Increasingly growing in popularity is Toughened Laminated Glass, the secret of which lies in the laminating process, the glass undergoes during the manufacture. In simple terms an interlayer is “sandwiched” between two pieces of toughened glass should the glass suffer a breakage, the interlayer ensures that the piece of glass remains in place eliminating the risk of harm from shards or large pieces becoming displaced.
Architects and builders are constantly specifying laminated glass as it provides the strength & stability of toughened safety glass whilst improving safety by retaining all broken shards when breakage occurs.
The obvious advantages of Juliet balconies are that they enable French windows or patio doors to be installed rather than conventional windows, filling the room with light, increasing ventilation and creating a greater sense of space in smaller rooms, with the balcony itself providing a safety barrier which does not generally require planning permission.
Minimal and versatile, glass is the material of the moment for Juliet balconies, especially where uninterrupted views are desired. Once installed, they are virtually maintenance-free, simply requiring cleaning, and are suitable for even the most corrosive seaside or coastal properties. However, the more traditional wrought iron style is still very much in the frame where that look is required.
We offer a choice of modular Juliet balcony systems available in a range of sizes.
The most popular method for providing a glazed balustrade, while at the same time keeping the outlook open and views beyond, visible.
